HVAC Air Filters
Filtration works as a sequence, not a single product. Coarse particulate is removed first so that the expensive final filter is not consumed doing work a washable pre filter could have done. We manufacture every stage of that sequence in standard and custom sizes.

The air filters range
Pre FilterThe washable first stage that catches coarse dust so the expensive filters downstream last longer.Specifications published
Fine FilterThe intermediate stage, F5 to F9, that catches what a pre filter misses and a HEPA should not have to.Specifications published
Absolute HEPA FilterH13 and H14 grade final filtration, 99.97% at 0.3 micron, for ISO Class 5 operation.Specifications published
Super HEPA FilterFinal filtration beyond standard HEPA, for research, pharmaceutical manufacturing and nanotechnology.Specifications published
Mini Pleat HEPA Filter (Gasket Seal)A shallow 75 mm HEPA with closely packed pleats and an airtight gasket seal.Specifications published
Mini Pleat HEPA Filter (Gel Seal)The gel seal version, which eliminates bypass leakage at the filter-to-housing joint.Specifications published
Activated Carbon FilterAdsorption rather than filtration, for gaseous pollutants, odours and VOCs that a particulate filter passes straight through.
Combination FilterParticulate and gas phase filtration integrated into a single unit, where two housings will not fit.
Pocket FilterExtended surface area in pockets, which buys a longer service interval for the same face size.
Bag FilterThe same extended surface principle in bag form, for high dust load air streams.

Specification questions
What buyers of air filters most often need settled before ordering.
Does MAP Filters manufacture its own filters, or resell them?
We manufacture them. We are one of the few companies internationally to manufacture both cleanroom equipment and the air filters that go into it, from premises of about 12,000 sq ft near Mumbai. In practice this is why the filters inside our air showers, pass boxes and laminar flow units are our own, and why replacement elements can be made in sizes that are no longer generally available.
What does HEPA actually mean?
HEPA stands for High Efficiency Particulate Air. For a filter to qualify as HEPA it must remove 99.97% of particles greater than or equal to 0.3 micron. That specific figure and particle size is the definition, not a marketing claim. HEPA filters correspond to grades H13 and H14 of EN1822 and support ISO Class 5 operation as per ISO 14644.
What is the difference between a gasket seal and a gel seal HEPA filter?
The difference is how the filter seals to its housing, not how the media performs. A gasket seal uses a compression gasket; a gel seal uses a channel of gel into which a knife edge on the housing sits. In a terminal filter position, air leaking around the frame is often a larger contributor of contamination than air passing through the media, so a gel seal is specified where that bypass path has to be eliminated, such as in semiconductor fabrication.
Why is a pre filter worth fitting if a HEPA filter is already installed?
Economics, mainly. A pre filter captures coarse dust, pollen and lint that would otherwise be removed by the HEPA filter downstream. Since a washable pre filter costs a fraction of a HEPA and can be cleaned and reused, letting it absorb the coarse load extends the life of the expensive final filter and lowers total maintenance cost. Skipping the cheap stage makes the expensive stage a consumable.
Can equipment be built to a non-standard size?
Yes. Filters and cleanroom equipment are manufactured in standard and customised sizes. For filters, the standard size tables on each product page are the sizes held as standard; other dimensions are made to order, and refill types are manufactured to customer requirement.
