The requirement
Food processing shares the pharmaceutical concern with airborne microbial contamination, but the operating conditions are harsher. Surfaces get washed down frequently and aggressively, and equipment that merely looks cleanable will not survive that regime.
So the specification question is as much about construction detail as about air quality. Where water and residue can collect, they eventually will.
Nowhere for residue to collect
Seamless epoxy flooring with integrated coving removes the floor-to-wall corner. Stainless steel equipment with smooth surfaces minimises particle and residue retention.
Microbial control in the air
Fine and HEPA filtration reduces airborne microbes and mould spores in production and packing areas.
Contained powder handling
Dispensing and sampling booths contain ingredient powders and stop them dispersing through the facility.
