MAP Filters (India) Pvt. Ltd. is a global engineering and manufacturing company specialising in turnkey solutions for the pharmaceutical, biotechnology and healthcare sectors. Over two decades we have grown from designing and constructing cleanrooms into a complete turnkey solution provider.

We are one of the few companies internationally to manufacture both cleanroom equipment and air filters ourselves. That matters in practice: the filters inside our equipment, and the equipment inside the rooms we build, are ours, so when a room does not hold its class there is no argument about whose component is responsible.

Featured capability

A cleanroom is a system, not a set of parts. The partition system, the doors, the air handling plant, the ducting, the terminal filters and the flooring all decide the same outcome, which is whether the finished room holds its class in daily use.

Why MAP Filters

Four differences that change what a project costs and how it performs, rather than four adjectives.
  1. We manufacture the filters, not just the rooms

    One of the few companies internationally to manufacture both cleanroom equipment and air filters. Replacement elements can be made in sizes no longer generally available, and a filter and its housing are specified against each other.

  2. Design through to manufacturing, in house

    Design, engineering, construction and manufacturing are all our own. The interfaces between the envelope and the air system are one party's responsibility, which is where multi-vendor projects usually fail.

  3. Two decades in regulated industries

    Over twenty years as an engineering and construction partner to pharmaceutical and allied industries, the sectors with the least tolerance for a room that does not hold its class.

  4. Standard and custom, on the same line

    Filters and equipment are made in standard and customised sizes, so an awkward dimension or a non-standard housing is a manufacturing instruction rather than a reason to redesign the ceiling.

Our approach

We would rather show you the reasoning than a gallery. Three principles decide most of what we build.

Specify the seal, not only the grade

At Class 5 and above, air leaking around a filter frame contributes more than air passing through the media. Sealing method is an engineering decision, not a preference.

Protect the expensive stage with the cheap one

A washable pre filter costs a fraction of a HEPA and does the same work at the coarse end. Skipping it turns the expensive filter into a consumable.

Measure it, do not assume it

A room is classified on what it is shown to do under test. Installed filter integrity testing through DOP ports is part of handover, not an optional extra.

What actually determines whether a cleanroom works

Four questions that come up in almost every enquiry, answered before you ask them.

What does an ISO class actually guarantee?

ISO 14644-1 classifies a room by one thing: the maximum permitted airborne particle concentration per cubic metre. It says nothing about viable organisms, and nothing about chemical cleanliness. A laboratory can hold Class 5 particle counts with solvent vapour throughout, because a particle counter does not see molecules in the gas phase.

Why does a cleanroom need four filter stages?

Each stage protects the one behind it. A washable pre filter takes the coarse dust, a fine filter takes the intermediate range, and the terminal HEPA establishes the class. Remove the cheap stages and the expensive one does their work once, then needs replacing.

How do you choose between a gasket and a gel seal?

The difference is how the filter seals to its housing, not how the media performs. In a terminal ceiling position above a critical process, gel seal is normally correct because it removes the bypass path a compression gasket can leave. In an AHU bank several metres upstream, a gasket seal is appropriate and cheaper.

How to specify a HEPA filter

Who needs a turnkey contract rather than equipment?

If the envelope and the air system are bought separately, the interface between them belongs to nobody. Turnkey makes one party accountable for the finished room's performance. Where a facility only needs replacement filters or a single piece of equipment, those are supplied on their own.

What does MAP Filters manufacture?

Four related product families: cleanroom turnkey projects (PUF partitions, doors, air handling units, ducting, terminal boxes, control panels and epoxy flooring), cleanroom equipment (air showers, laminar air flow units, pass boxes, biosafety cabinets, dispensing and sampling booths, garment cubicles), HVAC air filters (pre, fine, HEPA, super HEPA, mini pleat, activated carbon, combination, pocket and bag filters), and modular operation theatres. We also take on HVAC projects, cleanroom validation and plant maintenance.

Does MAP Filters manufacture its own filters, or resell them?

We manufacture them. We are one of the few companies internationally to manufacture both cleanroom equipment and the air filters that go into it, from premises of about 12,000 sq ft near Mumbai. In practice this is why the filters inside our air showers, pass boxes and laminar flow units are our own, and why replacement elements can be made in sizes that are no longer generally available.

Which industries does MAP Filters work with?

Can MAP Filters take on a complete cleanroom, or only supply equipment?

Both. Our in-house capability covers design, engineering, construction and manufacturing, so a project can be taken on as a single turnkey contract. Where a facility only needs the envelope, or only needs equipment or replacement filters, those can be supplied on their own.

What does HEPA actually mean?

HEPA stands for High Efficiency Particulate Air. For a filter to qualify as HEPA it must remove 99.97% of particles greater than or equal to 0.3 micron. That specific figure and particle size is the definition, not a marketing claim. HEPA filters correspond to grades H13 and H14 of EN1822 and support ISO Class 5 operation as per ISO 14644.

Where is MAP Filters located?

The corporate office is in Kopar Khairane, Mahape, in the TTC Industrial Area of Navi Mumbai (Thane district, Maharashtra 400705). There are two manufacturing units in Palghar district, at Naigaon East and at Vasai East. Full addresses are on the contact page.
